For Lemon Syrup
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice (about 4–5 lemons)
- 1 tablespoon finely grated lemon peel
For Berry Mixture
- 1 ½ cups frozen triple berry blend (thawed) or 2 cups fresh berries (such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 2 cups water (divided from total 4 cups)
- Thaw Berries: If using frozen berries, place them in a strainer over a bowl to drain and thaw, capturing the juice released during thawing. This juice will be used later to enhance flavor.
- Prepare Lemon Syrup: In a large pot, combine 2 cups of water and 1 cup sugar. Bring to a boil and keep boiling for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar completely. Remove the pot from heat and stir in the fresh lemon juice and grated lemon peel. Allow this to cool completely.
- Blend Berry Mixture: In a blender, add 1 cup of the cooled lemon syrup along with the thawed or fresh triple berry blend. Cover and blend until smooth. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve to remove seeds, pressing to extract as much berry flavor as possible. Discard the seeds.
- Combine and Chill: Pour the strained berry mixture, the reserved berry juice from thawing, and the remaining 2 cups of water into the pot with the leftover lemon syrup. Stir thoroughly to combine all flavors evenly. Transfer the lemonade into a pitcher and refrigerate until fully chilled.
- Serve: Serve the triple berry lemonade over ice for a refreshing summer beverage.
Notes
- You can substitute frozen berries with fresh if available for a brighter flavor.
- Adjust sugar quantity according to taste or using a sugar substitute if preferred.
- For extra fizz, replace some of the water with sparkling water just before serving.
- Straining the berry blend is important to achieve a smooth texture without seeds.
- This lemonade keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
