Ingredients

Scale

Meatballs

  • 1 pound Ground Turkey
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic

Glaze

  • 1/2 cup Hoisin Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Rice Vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha Sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 clove Minced Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Ginger

Instructions

  1. Preparation: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easy.
  2. Mix Meatball Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, sesame oil, breadcrumbs, ground ginger, egg, and minced garlic. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated to create a smooth meatball mixture.
  3. Form Meatballs: Shape the mixture into 1½-inch meatballs and place them spaced apart on the prepared baking sheet to ensure even cooking.
  4. Bake Meatballs: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20 to 23 minutes or until they are fully cooked through and have turned golden brown on the outside.
  5. Prepare Glaze: While the meatballs are baking, combine hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, minced garlic, sesame oil, ground ginger, soy sauce, and sriracha in a skillet. Heat over medium heat until the mixture boils and thickens slightly to create a sticky, flavorful glaze.
  6. Coat Meatballs: Once the meatballs are done baking, transfer them to the skillet and toss gently to coat each meatball evenly with the sticky Asian glaze.
  7. Serve: Serve the glazed meatballs hot over steamed rice or noodles for a satisfying meal packed with bold Asian flavors.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, use panko breadcrumbs instead of regular breadcrumbs.
  • Adjust the amount of Sriracha to control the spiciness of the glaze.
  • Ground turkey can be substituted with ground chicken or lean pork if preferred.
  • Make sure not to overcrowd the baking sheet to allow meatballs to cook evenly.
  • These meatballs can be prepared ahead and reheated in the glaze before serving.
