A refreshing and vibrant Mango Hibiscus Iced Tea combining the tart floral notes of hibiscus with the sweet, tropical flavor of ripe mango. Perfect for hot days, this iced tea is naturally sweetened with agave syrup and enhanced with a splash of lemon juice for a balanced and invigorating beverage.

Ingredients

Scale

Hibiscus Tea

  • 2 tablespoons dried hibiscus flowers
  • 5 cups boiling water

Mango Purée

  • 1 large ripe mango
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup
  • 1 tablespoon water

Serving

  • 1 cup ice

Instructions

  1. Prepare Hibiscus Tea: Add 2 tablespoons of dried hibiscus flowers to a tea kettle and pour in 5 cups of boiling water. Let the flowers steep for about 30 minutes until the tea cools down slightly. To cool the tea completely and prevent bitterness, transfer the kettle or tea to the fridge and chill thoroughly.
  2. Make Mango Purée: Peel and slice a large ripe mango, then place the pieces into a blender. Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 2 tablespoons agave syrup, and 1 tablespoon water. Blend the mixture on high speed until smooth and creamy. Pour the mango purée into an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  3. Assemble the Drink: In a serving glass, add about 1/4 to 1/3 cup of the chilled mango purée. Fill the glass with ice cubes, then pour the cooled hibiscus tea over the ice and mango mixture. Stir gently to combine all the flavors evenly.
  4. Serve and Enjoy: Garnish optionally with a slice of mango or a sprig of mint. Serve immediately for a refreshing, fruity iced tea experience.

Notes

  • Use a ripe mango for natural sweetness and the best flavor.
  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less agave syrup according to your taste preferences.
  • For a more intense hibiscus flavor, steep the flowers longer but avoid over-steeping to prevent an overly bitter taste.
  • This recipe is naturally caffeine-free and vegan-friendly.
  • To make the tea a little fizzy, substitute half of the chilled hibiscus tea with sparkling water when serving.
