Ingredients

Scale

Coffee Ice Cubes

  • 2 cups strong black coffee (470 g), cooled

Cream Ice Cubes

  • 1 ½ cups sweetened cream (355 mL)

Main Ingredients

  • 3 oz Irish whiskey (90 mL)
  • 1 bar chocolate, melted (approximately 1 tablespoon)

Topping

  • Remaining sweetened cream for whipping (about ½ cup)
  • Melted chocolate for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Prepare Coffee Ice Cubes: Pour the strong, cooled black coffee into ice cube molds and freeze for 4 to 6 hours or until fully solidified.
  2. Prepare Cream Ice Cubes: In separate ice cube molds, pour the sweetened cream and freeze alongside the coffee cubes until solid.
  3. Whip the Cream: Using the remaining sweetened cream, whip it until soft peaks form and set aside for topping the final drinks.
  4. Blend Coffee and Whiskey: Place 4 frozen coffee ice cubes and 1.5 oz of Irish whiskey into a blender. Blend until the mixture becomes foamy.
  5. Add Cream and Chocolate: Add 2 frozen sweetened cream cubes and 1 tablespoon of melted chocolate to the blender. Blend once more until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  6. Serve: Pour the blended mixture into serving glasses.
  7. Top and Garnish: Spoon the whipped cream on top of each glass and drizzle with additional melted chocolate.
  8. Enjoy: Serve immediately and enjoy this indulgent frozen Irish coffee dessert.

Notes

  • For best flavor, use freshly brewed strong coffee chilled before freezing.
  • Use high-quality Irish whiskey to enhance the cocktail’s depth.
  • Melt chocolate gently to prevent burning, using a double boiler or microwave in short bursts.
  • The sweetened cream can be heavy cream mixed with sugar or store-bought sweetened cream.
  • This recipe serves two but can be easily doubled for more servings.
  • To make it less boozy, reduce the whiskey slightly.
