A quick and delicious Easy Crescent Roll Taco Pizza that combines a flaky crescent roll crust with creamy salsa-infused topping, flavorful seasoned ground beef, fresh tomatoes, cheddar jack cheese, and crisp shredded lettuce for a perfect taco-inspired meal.

Ingredients

Scale

For the crust:

  • 2 tubes refrigerated crescent rolls

For the creamy topping:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tbsp sour cream
  • 2 tbsp jarred salsa

For the taco meat:

  • 1 1/4 lb ground beef
  • 1 envelope taco seasoning

For the toppings:

  • 3 to 4 diced roma tomatoes
  • 4 to 5 oz shredded cheddar jack cheese
  • 1/2 oz bag shredded lettuce

Instructions

  1. Bake the Crescent Roll Base: Preheat your oven to 350°F as per the crescent roll package instructions. Unroll the crescent rolls and spread them evenly across a cookie sheet. Pinch together the seams to seal the dough and form the crust. Bake until golden brown according to package directions. Once baked, let the crust cool completely at room temperature before assembling your pizza. You can also cover and leave it overnight.
  2. Prepare the Taco Meat: While the crust cools, brown 1 1/4 lb of ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain any excess fat once the meat is cooked through. Add one envelope of taco seasoning along with the specified amount of water listed on the seasoning packet. Stir well and simmer until the sauce thickens and coats the meat thoroughly. Set aside and let cool slightly.
  3. Prepare the Toppings and Creamy Sauce: Dice 3 to 4 roma tomatoes into bite-sized pieces. In a medium bowl, mix together 8 oz of softened cream cheese, 3 tbsp sour cream, and 2 tbsp jarred salsa until smooth and well combined. This mixture will be your creamy pizza sauce.
  4. Assemble the Crescent Taco Pizza: Spread the creamy salsa mixture evenly over the cooled crescent roll crust, covering the surface completely. Layer the cooked taco meat evenly on top of the creamy sauce. Then add the diced tomatoes, followed by a generous sprinkling of 4 to 5 oz shredded cheddar jack cheese. Finish with a layer of shredded lettuce (about 1/2 oz). For extra flavor, pile the cheese and lettuce a little heavier in the center.
  5. Serve: Cut the pizza into equal squares and serve immediately for the freshest taste. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to two days but are best enjoyed fresh.

Notes

  • Ensure the crescent roll base is completely cooled before adding toppings to prevent a soggy crust.
  • You can customize the toppings by adding jalapeños, olives, or avocado slices for extra flavor.

  • Leftover pizza can be reheated in the oven at 350°F for 5-7 minutes to restore crispness.
  • Use low-fat cream cheese and sour cream to reduce calories and fat content if desired.
