For the Special Sauce
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp finely chopped dill pickles
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
For the Wraps
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup chopped lettuce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Dill pickle slices (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Prepare the Special Sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, finely chopped dill pickles, yellow mustard, white vinegar, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until smooth. Cover and refrigerate to develop flavors.
- Sauté Onions: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until they become soft and translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
- Cook Ground Beef: Add the lean ground beef to the skillet with the onions. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and fully cooked through, about 7-9 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
- Warm Tortillas: Gently warm the flour tortillas either in a dry skillet over low heat or wrapped in a damp cloth in the microwave until they are pliable and easy to roll.
- Assemble Wraps: Spread a generous amount of the prepared special sauce evenly over each tortilla. Layer with cooked ground beef, chopped lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, and dill pickle slices if using.
- Roll the Wraps: Fold in the sides of each tortilla and then roll tightly to enclose the fillings. Cut each wrap in half if desired and serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- Use lean ground beef to reduce excess fat and grease.
- The special sauce can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Optionally, substitute cheddar cheese with American cheese for a closer Big Mac flavor.
- To make this recipe gluten-free, use gluten-free tortillas.
- For added crunch, include shredded iceberg lettuce instead of leafy varieties.
